Copy Certification
When the custodian of a document presents the original document, and the notary is asked to make the copy. When permissible, the notary makes the copy or supervises making the copy of an original document; and affirms that it is a true and accurate representation of the original. This is common with Contracts, Letters, Settlement Statements, and Bills of Sale.
I-9 Forms Verifications
When an outside representative, such as a Notary, can be designated by an Employer to fill out Forms I-9 (verifying identity and employment eligibility).
